I was planning to go fishing on rockland lake. Am i able to catch fish from the edge without going to the water? Another place i was planning to fish on was the hudson river. I live in the bronx so i was planning to go fishing somewhere near the tappanzee bridge.
u dont need a boat. shore fishing is just fine. Right by the bridge just south of it is a pretty good spot.

alright i need artificial bait advise:
for fishing smallies in a river
plastic worms spinner baits jigs and grubs i guess
fishing in small lakes not sure if spinners will work mainly use senkos booyahh buzz baits plastic worms and popers grubs
walleye fishing on the river
flukes white and plastic worms and plastic grubs
Worms and grubs are cool for that area. It will depend on color, location, and skill after that. spinners in shallow water will get you hung up especially on the river rock. I’d go with a good drop shot or Texas Rig and worms.

Any suggestions on how to cook it?
awesome yellow mustard-egg white recipe.. will try. We have soo much of it.
From an old pro fisherman…1 egg white (yolk makes it cakey instead of crisp) 2 T yellow mustard like French’s. Mix well and roll fish in it, then in cornmeal. It is to die for. The mustard is a little salty, as is the fish, then it tenderizes and flavors so very well. You would never know it was mustard tho! This frys up so very crisp, it gave me the idea to fry my okra with egg white rolled in corn meal, too! It was a success! Everyone raves about it, as well!

he went on a fishing trip on the ocean and brought home some cod, bass, and grouper. i have no idea what to do with them. anyone have any good recipes? thanks
they are frozen and he froze them all together so they are like stuck together in a block. im not sure how to defrost them either?
The fish when cleaned and gutted can be cooked in lots of different ways.A very simple recipe for fillets is coat it in flour, in a large pan warm 3 or 4 tablespoons of olive oil (dont burn put on low heat) chop a couple of cloves of garlic and a teaspoon of fresh parsleyand put into the pan with the olive oil warm through and gently cook until the garlic starts to change colour add the fish and lightly cook you can add a glass of white wine and put a few chopped mushrooms turn the fish over dont let it dry out add a little more wine if needed should be cooked in 10 minutes . You can serve it wih creamy mashed potato and a seperate mixed salad.
