what’s a good saltwater spinning reel to use for inshore and boat fishing (mahi, cuda, etc)?

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 under Saltwater Fishing | 3 Comments

was wondering what kind of reel to get. have a 24 ft boat that the rod will be used on and will be considered light tackle for barracuda, dolphin, and other smaller gamefish as well as inshore saltwater fishing for reds, trout, sheepshead, etc. i am having a custom 7 ft rod built to match the reel. thanks!

I have several reels but use my Okuma’s mostly now!
For lighter fish I use my Okuma Inspira 55 spooled with 12lb mono or 20lb braid Okuma Inspira 65′s spooled with 17lb to 20lb mono or 30lb braid! These reels have good capacity for line and the drags have tested time well for me and they wont break the bank account.

Feeling lightheaded for days after fishing trip on a boat?

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 under Fishing Trips | 2 Comments

5 days ago, I went fishing on a charter for 3/4 of a day. I was fine on the boat until we were driving back in to shore. Istarted to feel very lightheaded and dizzy. This feeling has been with me every day since that trip and I am still feeling it while typing this info. Is this seasickness carried on for this long? Has anyone had this?

Drink lots of water and gatorade, and eat well. If it doesnt go away, see a doctor soon

what’s the difference between fishing reels?

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 under Fishing Reels | 3 Comments

I prefer spinning–the reel with a bail. There are also bait casting or level wind and spin casting reels(Zebco 33 is a good example).

If you have never fished before, you might want to start out with a spin cast reel. The are the least likely to give you problems.

Animal Crossing Fishing Guide with Cool Graphics?

Where can I get the graphic version of the fishing guide instead of the regular text version?

Kurt Boyer’s fishing guide is graphically rich and has an insect guide too. The calendar he has created works amazingly for the Wii game.

Does anyone know what kind of wood floors they have on the outside of big fishing boats?

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 under Fishing Boats | 2 Comments

I want to do my house in that kind of flooring.

Heres a picture of it. Go to this website and go to picture number 5.

Teak wood. But that’s overkill for your house unless your building an outside deck. You can buy flooring that looks just like it, and much cheaper for the inside of your home.
