If you're new to fly fishing, this video is a great place to start.

It explains everything: rods, reels, lines, leaders, knots, casting, flies, and a little bit of fly tying.

If you only fly fish for trout, get this video and you'll get psyched up to fish for everything else with a fly rod.

I still watch it every year in late Winter here in Nebraska (far from Trout streams).

Bluegills, Largemouth, Smallmouth, and the PIKE chapter shows flies, techniques and lots of great clips of Pike taking flies. (Plus scenes of Larry catching many exotic species both fresh water & salt water.)

The first thing I want to say is that the warranty offered by this company is 100% genuine. I broke the tip section of my rod shortly after receiving it and the people at Wild Water really went out of their way to get a new one to me quickly and without hassle. OK, on to the rod itself. I think this fly rod is a great deal. It's light, casts a tight loop and is really nice looking, too. It has a dark green blank, good components and an attractive wood reel seat. Add in a really nice rod tube and free shipping and you can't go wrong, especially at this price. So far I've used it on a small stream for smallmouth, but it's main job will be lake fishing for peacock bass. It will also be my travel rod for trout. This would be a great backup rod for people who can afford to have things like a backup rod and it's a great front line rod for the rest of us. I would definitely buy from this company again.

This book is very informative, however, it's not so pleasing to the eye. Navigation is difficult and no color pictures or maps. If you are looking for "secret" spots and enjoy easy to read maps, then look elsewhere. If you can look beyond the appearance of the book, then this book has some good information for you.

This book gave me a flavor of the aquatic terrain I could expect to find on a Florida fishing trip. I am very satisfied with it. Mr. Sargent's other books are good too, at least the Tarpon Book and the Trout Book.

Any new angler looking for secret insight on the techniques of snook, tarpon, redfish and trout fishing, and how to apply them to areas of Tampa and beyond needs this book. As time goes by and our local sport fishing industy explodes, fewer and fewer professional guides that are in the know share their spots, Frank wrote this before the net ban. It is probly the last puplicized "here's how to get there and do it book" you'll ever see. Frank has tons of respect on the water and off, both as the outdoor writer for the Tribune and Florida Sportsman. All of the information and spots revealed in his book are real, true spots, some of which I personaly fish weekly, almost always with great results. But don't let Frank tell you he showed them to me. The book contains actual nav charts with most of the best honeyholes in Tampa personally marked by Frank himself. Tight lines, take a kid fising, watch out for the sharks. Always remember two things about flats fising in Florida. 1- Your'e either in the know- or in the dark. 2-90 percent of successfull fishin is tide.

The fish shown here as known as Meer fish. They were not introduced accidentally but were brought here to hopefully thin out the aquatic vegetation. However, the numbers exsploded and the Meer are beginning to take over and as you can see from the video, they can be quite dangerous.

@WrenchHead09 These fish are Silver Carp, AKA Asian Carp, AKA Jumping Carp, AKA Flying carp.AKA Upside down carp. They were brought to Southern (Arkansas Mississippi) Catfish farms to eat algae and help keep the ponds clean. The Mississippi River flooded the farms in 1993 and they got into surrounding waters and have been spreading ever since.
