Why do fishing boats use large nets such as the ‘Wall of Death’?

By the way year 9 where i live does mean your 13. Year nine is when you start college when your 13
the answer to your question, they are used to catch fish.
Where the major problem arises, is when the nets are left untended, for days & sometimes, weeks or more.
as i understand the guidelines for YAHOO ANSWERS, is that a person is suppose to be at least 13 years of age, to use the forums.
From the way that i read what you posted, you have yet to attain the minimum age for using this forum

I think they are talking about a drift net.They are huge nets that are stretched for miles and left to sit for long periods of time,so that everything that gets caught in them usually dies.This includes sharks,turtles,dolphins,etc. Things that they were not fishing for,but just got unlucky enough to get trapped.These nets are horrible and should be permanently banned.
