I had read the reviews for the Rocket Rod – people saying that the hook didn’t come out like it should… so I added a weight on my line. It certainly doesn’t launch very far, but that’s not such a big deal if you’re fishing from a good dock or a boat. I was laughed at by the seasoned fisherman as I walked by with my kid’s Bow Rod, but they changed their tone when I was pulling in croakers longer than the width of my ice chest. I couldn’t believe it caught them either, but I posted a pic of one of them.

The set up looks pretty good, but it does not reel up all the way into the shaft by itself, it has to be guided in through the two eyes. Not a good setup for a little one. I bought it for my grand daughter who is 3… maybe she is too young for it? However, it does shoot pretty good.

Quick enough service. Interesting that one time I log into Amazon it was almost $50 and the next time it was less than $30. So I would keep checking.
It’s not as easy to use as it states, not recommended for younger children.
