do i need a freshwater fishing license in florida?
Posted on Jun 20, 2011 under Freshwater Fishing | 3 Commentsi want to go out to a lake and go fishing in my kayak. i live in florida and its obviously freshwater. if im going to catch and release do i need a fishing license? i know i need one if i keep the fish but i just want to catch and release. do i need a fishing license or not?

I don’t know if the age is 16 or 18. You need a license to fish in Florida anywhere. Don’t get caught without one. The penalties are very strict. One license covers both salt and fresh.

yes you need one and i think the guy above is wrong i think if you want to fish saltwater and freshwater it costs more.Also if you are under a certain age you wont need one but if you do Wal-mart has them but i don’t remember how much they cost but its definitely more if you want to fish saltwater too.

saltwater- if you are under 16 and over 65 you dont need one but if you do they are about $40 for an annual one but its well worth it
