can you use fresh bait with bait casters???? just curious becaus i use a baitcaster with fresh bait (hardly ever use lures) and it seems all the other anglers look at me wierdly i have a shakespeare firestorm medium action and was just curious thanx =]

@Jakev1023 Hi yes light weight lure are ok, but the heavier the lure the longer the cast. You’ll always cast a 1/2oz spinnerbait further than a 1/4oz spinnerbait.

    Cheers Aussie Steve

@blinkforminnows Hi NO it’s a baitcaster rod. You’d have to use a spinning rod if your looking at using a spinning reel.

  10. dudechillinathome Says:

@philly442 pfft no, I’m about to buy one

  11. blinkforminnows Says:

can you put that rod with a spining reel

  12. Jakev1023 Says:

can u use light weight bait or does it have to be heavy??

  13. TomJackson986 Says:

wayy too much line on that one, Im sure it casts fine, but it usually only needs like 100 yds on it

  14. qbhottie2424 Says:

Dude I have the same rod and the newer fevesion of that reel I just got it today i’m scared to use it for backlash

  15. philly442 Says:

  16. bassvet87 Says:

LETS PUT ANOTHER SHRIMP ON THE BARBIE!!!!! hahaha. i just had to

  17. WoodyGallagher Says:

    very informative

  18. stevedaviesfishing Says:

Yes you sure can, good luck and tight lines.

  19. rahstar Says:

can you use a graphite pole for catfish

  20. stevedaviesfishing Says:

Yes you sure do if there is a differance in weights, if there the same round about weights you get away with early feathering the spool.

  21. philly442 Says:

now do you have to adjust your spool tension after putting different lures on?!?!?!?!

  22. stevedaviesfishing Says:

Check the magnetic backlash adjustment is turn right down and adjust center fiction spool knob until lure drops, keep adjusting until lure drops.

  23. stevedaviesfishing Says:

Depends on the knot you tie as some will snap the mono. I try not to use mono as it’s way to soft for braid and only use flurocarbon as it alot harder. Try a albright knot as this may not snap the line.

  24. kawi3000 Says:

right out of the box, i bass about 3 times a week. idk what happened

  25. XcapeArtist357 Says:
