If you have a casting reel I would say PLine CXX Xtra Strong. That is the toughest Mono you can get, but it doesnt do too well on spinning reels. For them I would get Trilene, either Extra tough or extra smooth, both are good. 10 Lb test is good all around

Berkeley Vanish Transition in 8lb test is your best all around fishing line. It’s got the same refractive index as water so it’s clear underwater. Because it’s flourocarbon you should use the San Diego knot for best results.

i prefer trilene xt or trilene big game………………..just my preferance………….to me it seems as though it has little stretch and little memory………..or u can go with a braided line that does not stretch and has no memory…………which i do not prefer…………….u are gonna get alot of answers for this question

I use Maxima on all my reels, its a little pricy for mono, but beats the hell out of that fluorocarbon crap that will not hold a knot.

What test should you get? It all depends on the reel and what lure you want to use. I use #25 and #30 on a Penn 965/975 for swimbaits and big topwater lures but also go all the way down to #8 or #10 on a small Daiwa for plastic worms. Heavier lures like cranks, topwaters, spinnerbaits, #12 all the way up to #17 sometimes. Well, #17 with frog baits.

I like Trilene XL in 12 LB.

I use berkley fireline crystal. 10lb.
