At 340 pages thick, this book whets the readers appetite, and has sent me on a hunt for more definitive works. Great pictures, in-depth species information, but nothing practical (technique-wise) that you wouldn’t find out on a good charter. If you are a marlin fan, this book has been heavily slanted towards you.

The book is poorly organized, so it is difficult to figure out what you need to know to catch a specific fish. Not what I had hoped for, but certainly has nice pictures. More a coffee table book than a useful piece of info.

I read Peter’s first book “big fish and blue water” when I was 16 and now I am trying to find a copy to go with ” Saltwater Gamefishing” This is a nice book. It is not a fishing manual. It is a book. Some interesting info for people in the pacific rim countries about the rest of the world. A good book to look at when you can’t get out on the water
