What is the best rig for freshwater water fishing? What is the best rig for saltwater fishing?

Freshwater: Bass and Trout
Saltwater: Rockcod and Salmon
Terminal Tackle not reel/rod combo

it depends on what you’re fishing for, whats around like rocks, logs, oysters, or is just a sandy or soft grass bottom. with live bait in fresh water, i usually am fishing for bass, and bass love cover, so i use a little heavier lb test (10+) and a leader thats about 20. i usually use a slider rig which is the main line connected to a swivel with either a float or a weight above the swivel, and then a leader to the hook that’s about 1 to 1.5 feet long. hooks can range from 1/0 or 2/0 to those tougher live bait hooks depending on what size fish i think are around. i use this same rig for most of my fresh and saltwater fishing, but with saltwater the line strenth varies more. trout, small red, snapper, etc. i use 10-14 lb test, and if im targeting larger snook or reds or black drum or whatever, i use bigger weights, floats, hooks and line respectively. have fun!

There are no best rigs for any fish, just suggested ones. Why? Because the area being fished dictates what we use to catch them. ~good luck catchin’.
